Attractions & theme park management

The attraction and theme park industry is rapidly growing and changing. Museums and science centres no longer focus exclusively on education, but are adding entertainment and experiential elements to their offerings in the form of themed exhibitions, interaction and attractions.

Zoos are building climbing parks; shopping centres are adding value to the shopping experience by means of, for instance, aquariums and simulation games. At the same time, major attraction parks are evolving into holiday resorts, featuring hotels, entertainment centres and water parks. Gaining an edge over their competitors is now more important than ever for all these attractions. As a result, young professionals with creative ideas and market knowledge are in growing demand.

For students with a HAVO diploma, there is also a possibility to follow the MHBO programme of NHTV University of Applied Sciences and De Rooi Pannen. This is also a good option for students who want to fill a gap year. First you follow two years education at MBO De Rooi Pannen, after which you can flow into the second year at NHTV Academy for Leisure. By doing MBO first, you can start with us more aware and better prepared and you can get your MBO-4 and HBO diploma in 5 years’ time.

Join a student

The Leisure Management programme also offers the opportunity to join a student for one 'real live' day at our Academy. Together with first-year or second-year students, you will get to spend a regular day as a student of the Academy for Leisure. These days are intended for prospective students who have already made some progress in their course selection process. You will attend a lecture or a project group of the first year. The day will be entirely organised by students.
